Loving... Yamazaki Home
I love this line of home goods from Japan, featuring minimal design, high utility, and slim profiles (perfect for apartments and smaller homes. This Tower Leaning Coat Hanger can be stored when not in use, and offers you an ad hoc closet option when for guests. I have 2 in white for hosting dinner parties, and their magazine rack end table in my office. You can see more of their wares here.
Covetable...Iittala
I begin each day with a black tea filled to the brim on this perfect Teema mug (0,31) by Iittala the Finnish brand that began as a glass factory last century. Designed by one of Iittala&rsquo,s most iconic design heroes, Kaj Franck, each piece in the Teema collection is derived from three simple forms: circle, square and rectangle. Fabulous design aside, Teema products are safe for use in the oven, freezer, dishwasher and microwave.
Must Have... Frama
My love affair with Copenhagen that has been detailed here over the years continues at a pace with every issue of Scandinavia Standard, a Claus Meyer opening, and a Frama design release. The Adams stool is my current obsession; perfect function meets form. I particularly love the wood seat adding an element of warmth to the metal architecture for a design that is more organic minimalism than industrial. See more from this Danish design company here. I want to live in the pictures on their website!
Covetable...Anglepoise
Fans of Margaret Howell will delight in knowing that she has collaborated with Anglepoise on their iconic Type 75 lamp designed moons ago by Kenneth Grange. This yellow Ochre color is swoon worthy , adding just the right pop of color anywhere you need it. Made from cast iron steel base with an aluminum shade and chrome plated fittings, this heirloom lamp also happend to be pretty darned affordable. I found mine at Need Supply online.
Loving... Yamazaki Home
I fell in love with this Tower Leaning Ladder rack from Yamazaki Home made of powder coated steel and wood. Modern, practical and every so Scandi, it is the perfect place to drape a blanket or pile on newspapers and magazines. A 100 year old family business hailing from Nara, Japan specializing in home goods with a design mission to “act on a sense of wonder.'“ How great is that?
